Speical to TFW
Ozark Folkways hosted “Out of the Woods” a large-scale installation of woodland-inspired art by more than 25 local artists, last Friday in Winslow. The brainchild of residents Erin Chapman and John Ford and completed with the help of local residents of all ages. Opening night was well attended.
Mostly three dimensional pieces relating to woodland myths, animals of the woods or sometimes their remains were on display. Sculpture, mixed media, photography, “yarn storming” installation, wood carving and collage were just some of the mediums on display. Attendees were treated to a magical evening of ethereal art, music, frame drumming by the Fayetteville Frame Drummers led by Allee Annabelle, food and fun.
Out of the Woods is on display at Ozark Folkways in Winslow through May. More information at OzarkFolkways.org.
