I personally love the fall! I especially think that this season is the most fun and creative when it comes to the possibilities of fashion forward expressiveness.
That’s why I decided to write this month’s column on fall makeup and hair trends. Here are a couple talented ladies in the beauty industry (and myself ) with our favorite fall trends, and a brief description on how to achieve these looks.
First up, Sophie Bauer, a local talented photographer in the fashion world, wanted a new look after being kinky curly and platinum over the summer. Straight hair is in this coming fall/winter, as shown in Milan’s Fashion week 2014.
Sophie had Amanda Hallam, hair stylist and Davines color educator, take her back to her original golden copper blonde ( using Coppers from Davines mask color line) then she applied the Cezanne Perfect Finish Keratin smoothing treatment, which is formaldehyde free and lasts up to 3 months or so on any hair type.
Next we have Yani Ko, a local waitress at Bordino’s restaurant and bar, modeling a look from Rodarte fall/winter 2014 ready to wear collection! Andi Wise was the hair stylist/makeup artist.
Applied this look as so:
•Prime lids from lash line to brows.
•Apply a thin layer of bronze or light brown cream liner from lash line to all the way into brows. (This step will deepen the color and keep it intense all night!)
•Swipe a warm mahogany shadow over the cream. Use a soft fluffy brush to keep from making harsh lines or rubbing off the first layer. I used my crease brush.
•Smudge under eyes with a Q-tip or smudge brush.
•Fill in brows with a darker mahogany shade using an angle brush.
.apply mascara of choice.
Products Used:
•Smashbox 24hr Photo Finish Shadow Primer
•Smashbox Photo Op eye shadows in Ambient, Chestnut, and Java
•Smashbox Photo Op Rye Brightening Mascara
Finally we have Sarah Levine, a local hip, chic gal, who’s always fashion forward in her own original way.
Sarah is modeling Melissa Aren’s, hair stylist/makeup artist/Artamiss fashion director, deep set, dark purple, smokey eye with a nude lip, always in style for fall/winter any year!
Products used used:
Mehron’s E.Y.E. and cheek powder pallet.
1st: deep set eye in crease with black, using smudge brush, really create a dark heavy line right in the crease of eye, this is the contouring process of the look.
2nd: apply mauve all over from lash line to crease, blending heavy black line with a medium shadow brush.
3rd: apply a darker purple loose shadow from lash line to crease, really going over full eye shadowed area and blending it all together… I used a Medusa loose shadow
4th: line eye top and bottom with any black eye liner of your choice. Always blend a little with a smudge brush.
5th: highlight and apply a heavy thick mascara to top and bottom lashes.
