Bruce Memorial At Jose's

Memorial efforts for Bruce Walker continue today from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Jose’s in Fayetteville.

There will be a silent auction. Musical acts include Joe Giles and the Homewreckers, Chester P and the Vinyl Kings, Leah and the Mojo Doctors and The Odds. Custom designed T-shirts commemorating Bruce will also be sold. All proceeds will go to the Bruce D. Walker Memorial Fund. Organizers hope to create a permanent stage at Springfest commemorating Bruce.

Bruce, the owner and operator of Flying Possum Leather since 1976 on Dickson Street, died following a fire at his shop. A memorial event at George’s Majestic Lounge brought out thousands of people and raised about $17,000 for the memorial fund.
