UN International Day of Peace
Risa’s Astrology
By Risa D’Angeles
Be careful with communication while Mercury retro re-enters Virgo on Thursday. Friday is the new moon festival and Saturday is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Tuesday is Autumn Equinox. Monday is the Feast Day of St. Matthew, tax collector and writer of the first gospel. Monday is also United Nations International Day of Peace, a day of peace-building (different than peace-making or peace-keeping) where the world leaders, communities and individuals are invited to end conflict, cease hostilities, creating a 24-hour period of non-violence and promoting goodwill and right relations. The absence of war does not signify peace. Peace is an ongoing process. At noon, in every time zone across the world, millions will observe a moment of silence for Peace on Earth. Bells will be rung, candles lit, doves released and the New Group of World Servers will recite the Great Invocation. To connect with others around the world go to: cultureofpeace.org and un.org/en/events/peaceday/2009/.
ARIES: New endeavors come forth; all that’s been hidden emerges and creates a transformative atmosphere. More work is given to you. It will entail research, organizing and reassessing all agendas and work plans. Schedule moments of exercise. View everything as opportunity.
TAURUS: You must begin a serious look at your health. Only if you are in the best of health can you tend and maintain the vast responsibilities you’re about to assume. Like Aries you’ll be receiving new responsibilities. What is your workplace environment like? A bit of freedom is about to occur.
GEMINI: Observe your life at home and see if it changes dramatically or if something or someone enters your environment creating transformation and calling you to further work and responsibilities. Something may upset what you feel as security.
CANCER: Are you busier than usual and people depending on you for strength, food and your usual cardinal qualities? Much needs to be accomplished and we have one-third the amount of time each day. Each morning and evening ends with a quandary. Someone from the past may be in touch. Or you’re needing to make contact. Contact releases love. You need it.
LEO: Everything that occurs this month is either about finances and relationships. Both need careful tending. Then all of a sudden the focus is about your skills, how to gather more and learning how to listen more carefully. Do you know about re-skilling, the educational aspect of Transition Town?
VIRGO: Many things you’ve done may need to be re-done. This is good. It gives you another opportunity to make things better. Re-doing is a time for fixing, rethinking and remembering things forgotten. You also delve deeply into subtle thoughts and come to revelations.
LIBRA: It is a time to be alone so you can tend to personal needs, thoughts and feelings. It is good to have a journal. Unusual thoughts may flow through your mind this week. They contain the seeds of understanding and compassion and how to better serve. You need sleep.
SCORPIO: Friends, the groups you belong to and the communities you allow around you begin to articulate what you truly hope and wish for in the future. Exploring these ideas you realize you’re not hidden anymore and many people know and care about you and would value you as a friend. I know you must go slowly. You might venture out a bit more.
SAGITTARIUS: As you struggle to meet work demands you realize home and family life is struggling for your attention. You are pulled in two directions, seeking to maintain balance and quality and all you really want to do is run away. Even if you’ve already run away your thoughts and responsibilities traveled with you. Allow both realities their voices. Soon a compromise is reached. This is a training.
CAPRICORN: Someone older and wiser allows you to speak about your dilemmas. You realize your need for true recognition and compensation. Everything routine goes into a tailspin. Seek legal advice if needed to ease your mind. Do not blame yourself. Acts of God happen.
AQUARIUS: You remember the rules of retrogrades, yes? No big commitments, no signing papers, no large purchases. Travel can be difficult and communication garbled. Contracts fall apart and no one remembers previous conversations. Details are overlooked. It is a good time to tend to previous promises. Then you’re free.
PISCES: If a leader you may experience several unusual resistances. It will be subtle and feel not quite tangible. If you think deeply your Pisces will grasp the situation clearly and make an appropriate response. Mercury retro times are Virgo times. For a Pisces this is good as it integrates your shadow self. Keep pondering.
