Godless Ads Now On Buses And Billboards
“Are you good without God? Millions are.” Ozark Regional Transit buses bearing these words are the latest part of an atheist ad campaign in Fayetteville.
The words appear on bus ads on the sides and rear of four buses. These, together with a billboard that went up last week on the I-540 bypass about a half a mile south of Wagon Wheel Road, are broadcasting the message of the Northwest Arkansas Coalition of Reason.
The campaign was made possible with $8,000 in funding from the United Coalition of Reason in Washington, D.C. Each ad features an image of blue sky and clouds with the words superimposed over the image.
The campaign also marks the public launch of the Northwest Arkansas Coalition of Reason, which is made up of three area nontheistic (atheist and agnostic) groups.
Fayetteville is the latest city of 26 during the last 14 months where the UCR has sponsored a high-profile campaign. But it is the first city to run both a billboard and bus ads at the same time.
The Northwest Arkansas Coalition of Reason is a collaboration of local free-thought organizations that are working together to raise public awareness about secular groups throughout Northwest Arkansas.
The UCR is a national network that exists to raise the visibility and sense of unity among local groups in the community of reason by providing funding, expertise and opportunities for cooperation.
