Farmers markets find ways to allay pandemic panic

Like everyone else, the organizers of farmers markets are dealing with the fallout of the pandemic. What’s Up! has gathered the most current information on the annual events in Northwest Arkansas here.
Bella Vista

Bentonville
Downtown Bentonville Market — 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays at Memorial Park. downtownbentonville.org.
Covid-19 guidelines:
• Customers should travel on John Deshields Boulevard to the eastern-most parking lot next to the soccer fields, immediately next to Orchards Park.
• Vendors will man booths separated by at least 10 feet.
• Customers will be able to interact with vendors while remaining in their vehicles at all times. Market staff and volunteers will direct traffic so that vendors can take orders on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
• No walk-ups will be permitted. All customers must travel through the market in a vehicle or on a bike.
• Pre-ordering is available and encouraged. Check the Bentonville Farmers Market app for instructions.
Eureka Springs

Covid-19 guidelines to observe:
• Stay home if you are sick or have been near those who have been sick.
• Use handwashing/sanitation station as needed.
• Do not touch produce or other items.
• No self-service. Vendors will help you with your selection.
• Stay at least 6 feet from others.
• Minimize the people in your party to shoppers only.
