Art Promoting Nonprofit Begins Apparel Line

Fashion Spread 1Art Amiss Inc. is the local non-profit that has been a part of Fayetteville for almost 10 years, working to provide opportunities for artists living in Northwest Arkansas through project grants. Past projects of supported artists have included holding CD release parties, creating music compilations, designing for NWA Fashion Week, The Las Photos project, Artist’s Laboratory Theatre, supporting the pledge for the UA Fashion Club and sponsoring Hot Springs Valley of the Vapors workshop with Yuri Landman, among others.

Now, they’re partnering with local artists to start an exclusive Art Amiss Apparel line, to raise money for their organization, and ultimately the artists they support. Fashion director chair for Art Amiss Melissa Arens will be choosing comfortable, stylish cotton clothing to display the artwork of talented local artists.

Fashion Spread 2These items will be available at Artamiss.org and (along with other Art Amiss merch) and Mayapple Boutique. The artists will receive 60 percent of sales from Mayapple, and the rest goes directly to Art Amiss for later projects.

Artists participating in this project thus far include, Jane Kang, Sarah Creasman, Whitney Allen Johnston and Sara Levine.

The Art Amiss organization is composed of five board members who host semi-annual events for all medias and are interested in working in conjunction with artists all over the state to increase the artistic awareness in our local environments.
