The Cafe on Broadway changed hands last month and the new owners are excited to continue its downtown legacy.
Melissa Gute, the Bentonville city reporter for the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, and Patty Arnett co-own the business.
Rick and Carolyn Robinson opened the cafe 12 years ago when much of downtown was business offices and gave people a social reason to visit downtown, Gute said.
“The cafe played an important role in making downtown the vibrant place it is today. We want to honor that while also bringing in some new ideas,” she said.
The cafe will keep it’s name, but get an updated logo. The “brick side” of the building will close, as that side of the cafe is in a building being sold by the building’s owner. The change brings the cafe back to its original footprint, Gute said.
The menu will stay the same for now. Gute said the primary focus is on the transition of ownership.
