Fayetteville cat lovers rejoice, we are getting our own special place to hang out with felines and get some purr therapy when “Purr Catfe” officially opens for business on Wednesday, April 6.

The concept is simple: pay a cover fee ($8 adults, $4 kids 5-12, kiddos 4 and younger FREE) and enjoy the company of local rescue kitties while reaping the benefit of ‘purr therapy.’

What makes Purr even more amazing is the kitties of Purr are available for adoption! Owner Lauren Soloman is partnering with local shelters and rescues to recruit these furry therapists. Anyone falls in love with one of the furrballs can apply with the shelter to adopt them. Lauren hopes this venue will not only give the community a space to meet and enjoy the company of cats but also help facilitate successful adoptions of homeless cats in Northwest Arkansas.

In addition to regular business hours of Wednesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., Purr will host special events. Some special events planned for the future include: Jazz Night; Bingo Night; “Cats on Mats,” i.e. yoga with the kitties; DEARTC (Drop Everything and Read to Cats) for kids; and “Happy Meowers,” a gathering of young professionals for happy hour with complimentary adult beverages.

Purr Catfe will have coffee and packaged foods and snacks available for purchase. Special events will include adult beverages for purchase. Visit Purr Catfe at 125 E. Township St. #16, Fayetteville, AR 72703 or check out the website for more details at www.purrcatfeandlounge.com
