I wanted to bring attention to a rare find in Fayetteville. The gift store on Mount Sequoyah (the Mount Sequoyah Conference and Retreat Center) is the only fair-trade store in Northwest Arkansas. Ten Thousand Villages helps provide fair income to tens of thousands of artisans worldwide. I found unique furnishings, accents for the home, jewelry and much more with affordable pricing. The artisans’ works aren’t just their livelihoods but an expression of their culture, too, from countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Africa, Peru and Indonesia. I think anyone who checks this place out will be very surprised by the wonderful handmade pieces available. Also a lovely place for a walk, too.
