Idle Class Magazine Releases Special Edition
Idle Class

Bonnie Montgomery

The Idle Class Magazine, Arkansas’ newest print and online publication showcasing the arts throughout the entire state, will celebrate the release of its new Legacy Issue on Friday, April 25, at 8:30 p.m. at The Stolen Glass in Fayetteville. The party will feature two amazing female singer/songwriters — Bonnie Montgomery and Tessa Kate.

“We are really excited about having two talented musicians like Bonnie and Tessa playing our release party,” said Kody Ford, Fayetteville resident and editor of The Idle Class Magazine. “I’m a fan of both of them and can’t wait to see them bring down the house. This show will not disappoint.”

Arkansas born and bred, Bonnie is a classically trained composer and opera singer by day and country queen by night. Bringing her raucous spin on traditional southern music to honky-tonks throughout the U.S. and Europe, Bonnie’s catalog hails from a place where outlaw country saddles up with Americana and folk. Her composition of the modern folk opera Billy Blythe, about the childhood of Bill Clinton, has earned her the attention of publications such as The New Yorker, The Economist, The Huffington Post and the London Daily Telegraph.

Tessa was featured on season 14 of American Idol and received praise from the judges. Keith Urban compared her to a modern day Barbara Mandrell. A native of Harrison, Ark., Tessa is currently recording her debut EP in Fayetteville.

The Idle Class Magazine just released The Legacy Issue, which features notable Arkansans who have made a name nationally such as Mary Steenburgen (Step Brothers), Harry Thomason (Designing Women), Charles Portis (True Grit) and James Sallis (Drive). Also featured are Chris “Clunk” Selby and Peter Read, two locals who made their mark on our state through their ventures in music booking and journalism.

Based in Fayetteville, The Idle Class Magazine celebrates the creative life in Arkansas. The magazine’s goal is to connect the different “artistic bubbles” throughout our state by showcasing different aspects of the arts in Arkansas in one publication. Recent editions include the Comedy Issue and the Film Issue. Unique content and online editions of the print version can be found online at IdleClassMag.com
