Beers lovers rejoice: FoamFest returns Saturday.

The annual event takes place on the Walton Arts Center’s parking lot of Dickson Street.

To get a few details out of the way, note that the event is open to humans 21 years old or older, who can show proper identification. Emphasis on human, because organizers ask that you leave the four-legged companions at home.

Rain, snow (let’s hope that it doesn’t snow in May like it did a couple years ago in spots in NWA) or shine, the event will go on.

Fayetteville Foam Fest is a craft beer sampling festival offering more than 300 — 300! — craft beers from local and national breweries. The $40 tickets gets you entry into the 4-hour festival and a 5-ounce sampling mug.

The festival also offers an additional ticket (available pre-sold only) — a $25 fast pass that ensures quick entry at the gate and access to the air-conditioned restroom trailer.

Designated drive tickets, at the price of $20, include festival entry, a free gift, and unlimited hand-crafted root beer and sodas.

Tickets can be pre-purchased at FayettevilleFoamFest.com.

While the beer is quenching the thirst, food trucks will be on hand to deal with the evening appetite. Trucks selling their tastiest grub include Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers, Baller, Feltner Brothers, Kona Coast, Great Dang Pies and Tamales.

Local breweries offering their finest products include Fossil Cove Brews Co., Ozark Beer Co., West Mountain Brewing Co., Core Brewing Co., Apple Blossom Brewing Co., Saddlebock Brewery, and Bike Rack Brewing Co.

So the beer and the grub are covered. What about tunes? That’s covered, too, thanks to local band Cutty Rye.

And what’s a festival without a merchandise tent, right? The merchant tent offers limited edition, locally made, T-shirts.

Proceeds from the festival benefit local charities including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Apple Seeds (which inspires healthy living through garden-based education in area schools) and Ranger’s Pantry (which is a pet food bank).
